🚨 Madrid derby temporarily suspended after fan disruption at the Wanda

Players from Atlético de Madrid and Real Madrid have left the pitch mid-way through Sunday’s derby clash.

Always a nervy affair, things turned even more tense at the Wanda Metropolitano minutes after the visitors grabbed the lead via Eder Militao.

Atleti fans were seen throwing lighters and other objects at former goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, which caused a pause in play.

After the incidents, the referee spoke to managers Diego Simeone and Carlo Ancelotti, and both teams exited the pitch.

Simeone and Koke were later seen pleading with home fans to stop throwing items onto the pitch.

Whether or not the match resumes is yet to be determined.
