Red Bull Salzburg have completed the season-long loan signing of Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajčetić.
Liverpool have received a fee as part of the arrangement, which has occurred despite a late attempt from Barcelona to hijack the move.
Bajčetić joined the Reds from Celta Vigo in 2020, and has made 22 first-team appearances, the bulk of which came in the 2022/23 season.
Since then, the Spanish Under 21 international has suffered a series of injuries, notably to his abductor and calf, which have stunted his development.
With fierce competition in Arne Slot’s midfield, it has now been decided he will move to the Austrian club for the season under the management of former Liverpool assistant Pep Lijnders.
He will join former teammate Bobby Clark, who made the move to Salzburg on a permanent basis earlier in the month.
