50 Cent Reacts To Mayor Eric Adams’ Indictment The Best Way He Knows How: Trolling

Date:

50 Cent is trolling Eric Adams after the current mayor of New York City was indicted on federal charges of bribery, fraud and soliciting illegal foreign campaign donations. The federal investigation launched in 2021, the same year Adams was elected mayor.

In a since-deleted Instagram post, the Queens-bred emcee posted a picture of the embattled mayor and captioned it, “Oh s**t, [shocked emoji] what the f**k did you do Eric? I never saw the active mayor of NY get indicted.”

In a separate post after Adams addressed the indictment at a press conference, Fif responded, “This s**t is getting crazy out here! Do you want a docuseries on Eric Adams ? I want to know what the f**k is going on here.”

The New York Times reported that Adams’ indictment related to allegations that he and his campaign conspired with the Turkish government to garner illegal foreign donations. Adams has made history as the first sitting New York City mayor to face criminal charges.

He’s denied any wrongdoing. In a statement made on Wednesday (Sept. 25), Adams stated, “I will fight these injustices with every ounce of my strength and my spirit. I am innocent.”

Regarding a potential resignation, the Brownsville native and former NYPD captain continued, “Now, if I am charged, many may say I should resign because I cannot manage the city while fighting the case. I can also understand how everyday New Yorkers would be concerned that I cannot do my job while I face accusations, but I have been facing these lies for months […] Yet the city has continued to improve. Make no mistake, you elected me to lead this city and lead it I will.”

This isn’t the first time 50 Cent has called out Adams. In a since-deleted Instagram post from earlier this year, the entertainment mogul criticized the mayor’s proposal to give pre-paid debit cards to migrants.

“WTF mayor Adams call my phone, I don’t understand how this works — somebody explain,” said the rapper of the plan. He later admitted to reaching out to Adams. “I talk to @nycmayor Eric Adams he broke down why this pilot program was put in place. He appeared to be on point, and on top of things.”

Adams additionally confessed to wanting 50 Cent’s approval on the matter, stating, “I told 50 Cent to hit me up. I would love to explain it to him so that he can go out and do another tweet saying, ‘You know what? Eric is just a smart manager and now we understand why he was elected by the people of this city to be the mayor.’”
