Man Utd, West Ham Receive Encouraging News on PSG Standout Pursuit

Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani sees the writing on the wall: Manager Luis Enrique does not want him to be the starting No. 9. As a result, a move this upcoming January window is emerging in the rumor mill.

Over the last few weeks, there have been links to a potential move to the Premier League for the 2022 FIFA World Cup runner-up. Last month, CaughtOffside reported that Manchester United have a strong interest in signing Kolo Muani.

Moreover, TBR Football reported this week that PSG are open to letting Kolo Muani go on loan in January, with Premier League interest in him growing.

Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, and West Ham are all said to be exploring options to strengthen their striker lineup for the second half of the season, with Kolo Muani among the players under consideration for a short-term move.

On the latest PSG Talk Extra Time, CBS Sports’ Jonathan Johnson shared his thoughts regarding the future of Kolo Muani. He notes that if the Frenchman continues to be left on the bench leading up to the January transfer window, a departure is likely.

“It really does feel like there’s something about Randal Kolo Muani that Luis Enrique doesn’t really trust,” Johnson said. “And over 90 minutes, I wouldn’t even necessarily disagree with that. I do feel like there have been times where Kolo Muani has needed to show better [and] needed to take those opportunities. But he also hasn’t been given the opportunities when you would have expected him to.

“And for me, it now feels like PSG are almost relying on his France form to save them because it keeps Kolo Muani’s stock a little bit higher. I know that there’s been a lot of speculation that he might be moved on in the winter transfer window. Obviously, that grows more and more likely every passing game when he doesn’t feature at all. But I think there has to be a moment… like I was hinting at earlier, where Luis Enrique rolls the dice.

“There‘s not really much to lose and needs to start him in a game somewhere. If he’s going to start him in a game, start him in a game where he’s going to feel confident, somewhere where he thinks he’s going to be able to add something and contribute in a way that he did which caught PSG’s eye in the first place.”
