It will be like old times as No. 11 Duke women’s basketball team travels up I-95 to play No. 18 Maryland.
Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday in a game that will be played at the Xfinity Center in College Park, Maryland. You can watch it on Fox Sports 1 or live-stream it on Sling TV (discount), DirecTV Stream (FREE trial and discount) or fubo TV (FREE trial).
The Blue Devils are 2-0 following an 83-67 win over Liberty on Nov. 7. Four Duke players scored in double figures, with guard Ashlon Jackson leading the way with 22. Guards Oluchi Okananwa and Vanessa de Jesus led the team in rebounds, each with six.
Maryland defeated Coppin State, 70-47, on Nov. 7 to also improve to 2-0. Kaylene Smikle finished with 20 points to go along with three rebounds and two steals for the Terps. Sarah Te-Biasu contributed 12 points and three assists and Saylor Poffenbarger had 10 rebounds and six points.
For years, both teams were members of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). These days, Duke is a member of the SEC and Maryland is in the Big Ten.
Said longtime Maryland coach Brenda Frede of Sunday’s afternoon clash, “We are very excited for this game, especially for our fans, when you talk about going back to the ACC days and … it’s always been those Maryland-Duke games, just a fierce rivalry.”
