Fast-Moving Wildfire Prompts Evacuations in South Reno

A wildfire that broke out on Monday, November 11, prompted evacuations in south Reno, Nevada.

Washoe County officials reported a wildfire in the Callahan Ranch area on Monday, urging residents to evacuate.

Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue said the fire is “wind-driven with a fast rate of spread.”

Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo issued a statement on X, telling residents to “heed local authorities and follow all evacuation orders.”
