In celebration of its opening, the company said it donated $25,000 to Feeding America, in support of the Connecticut Foodshare’s hunger relief efforts.
The restaurant will also participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, which shares surplus food with local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks, and nonprofits in need.
In another outreach to the community, the West Haven restaurant will also be recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the city by providing them free entrees for a year.
The company said the 487 Saw Mill Road restaurant will create 100 full-time and part-time jobs. Its independent franchised local owner-operator is Jose Marquez, a Bridgeport native raised in North Georgia.
