Car hits ‘pretty loaded’ school bus carrying Lakota Local School District students

Date:

Students on a Lakota Local School District bus were involved in a crash in West Chester Township Thursday afternoon.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., the “pretty loaded” bus was rear-ended by a car at the intersection of Tylersville Road and Ohio 747, according to township spokesperson Barb Wilson, who added that the intersection is “very busy.”

No one on the bus was injured. Two people were in the other vehicle and both refused treatment.

The students were from Lakota Plains Junior School, which serves seventh and eighth graders in Liberty Township, Wilson said.

Officials briefly closed Ohio 747 at Tylersville, but the intersection is now open.

The district notified families of the crash and shortly after, the students were transported onto another bus and headed home.
