‘Reijnders must tempt Feyenoord captain to transfer to Milan’

According to rumours from Italy, AC Milan have set their sights on Quinten Timber. The Feyenoord captain is reportedly one of the names on the Lombardy club’s wish list. Current San Siro star Tijjani Reijnders could reportedly play ‘a key role’ in the deal for his countryman too.

The Rossoneri’s midfield is thin on the ground, says Spazio Milan:

“If Milan do anything during the January transfer window, it will definitely be in midfield. Since the Rossoneri are active in several competitions, players need to be added.”

The Italians continue: “The club management is not only looking at the January transfer market but is also very alert to opportunities that may arise on the summer transfer market. The intention is to give young players with good prospects a chance.”

One of the names that is being bandied about in Milan is that of Feyenoord captain Quinten Timber.

“He fits the profile perfectly (…) He is a 23-year-old midfielder who already wears the captain’s armband of his club. Timber can also play in different roles. As a defensive midfielder, but also attacking in midfield. His versatility and technical skills have convinced Milan.”

Spazio Milan does have a reservation about AC Milan’s strength. “In January, the club will not really be able to ‘attack’, also because Feyenoord is not prepared to give a discount. At least 20 to 25 million euros will be needed to bring Timber to Milan.”

Reijnders could possibly play an important role at a later stage: “He plays with Timber in the Oranje midfield and could be the key to making the transfer happen.”
