Creighton vs. Notre Dame

With top scorer and leader in assists Markus Burton out of the lineup on Wednesday, Notre Dame did all they could in their game against Houston to make it as grimy and slow as possible. The expectation should be the same in this game. Creighton point guard Steve Ashworth also went down with an injury and will be out moving forward.

Campbell vs. UW Green Bay

Campbell is slowing down their games and scuffling on offense, ranking 311th in the country in total possessions per game and 287th in points scored on a per possession basis. But, they are also generating turnovers on defense, ranking 100th in turnovers created per defensive play. UW Green Bay is 219th in turnovers per offensive play.

Rider’s 28.3% 3-point shooting should improve in their first home game of the season and Delaware ranked 255th in opponent 3-point shooting entering Friday.

Eastern Washington vs. Utah

Utah is 10th in the country at 41.1% in 3-point shooting and faces an Eastern Washington team that is 362nd out of 364 Division I teams in opponent 3-point shooting percentage. Eastern Washington has gotten to at least 76 points in four of their past six games and both teams are in the top 130 in total possessions per game.

Furman vs. Kansas

Furman entered Friday ranked 25th in the country in 2-point shooting percentage in games played away from home. Kansas is playing faster than in past years, ranking 125th in possessions per game entering Friday. They should be the team that sends Furman’s 3-point shooting luck on defense into regression, with Furman allowing both Division I and non-Division I teams to shoot an unsustainable 21% from 3-point range during their 7-0 start.

Oakland vs. Toledo

Oakland lost four of their top five starters from last season’s team and has yet to find a way to replace that scoring with 64 points or fewer scored in all four of their games against Division I competition. They rank dead last out of 364 teams in 3-point shooting percentage and 356th nationally in points scored per possession.

Utah Tech vs. Portland State

Utah Tech entered Friday 320th in the country in points scored on a per possession basis and have to face a Portland State squad that is 42nd in turnovers forced per possession. Portland State has one of the best mid-major facilitators in the country Qiant Myers, whose 6.5 assists per game entered Friday ranked 13th among qualifying Division I players.

Abilene Christian vs. Omaha

The way to defeat Omaha is to exploit their 3-point defense, which entered Friday 302nd in the country. But, Abilene Christian has just 18.2% of their points coming from made 3-point shots, the fourth-lowest percentage in the country. Abilene Christian also enters the weekend with the worst opponent 3-point shooting percentage defense in the country.

Lipscomb vs. Alabama A&M

Alabama A&M enters the weekend ranked 355th in opponent 3-point shooting percentage at 41.4% and Lipscomb’s 28.9% 3-point shooting should improve on Saturday and moving forward. The team was 12th in the country with 38.1% 3-point shooting last season with many of those guards back from a season ago.
