Canucks Gameday Preview #24: Wrapping Up A Six-Game Road Trip In Minnesota

Date:

The Vancouver Canucks (13-7-3) wrap up their six-game road trip on Tuesday when they take on the Minnesota Wild (16-4-4). This matchup will feature two of the NHL’s hottest teams, as both Minnesota and Vancouver have won six of their last ten teams. The last time these two former division rivals met, it resulted in a wild game, with the Canucks falling 10-7 at the Xcel Energy Center.

A win for the Canucks would put a bow on a very successful road trip. Vancouver has gone 4-1-0 and has been picking up wins despite not having J.T. Miller for the entire road trip and Filip Hronek for the last two games. With a record of 10-2-0 so far this season away from Rogers Arena, the Canucks can add to their impressive start by handing Minnesota their fifth loss of the season at home.

Players to Watch:

Pius Suter:

Pius Suter continues to deliver for this Vancouver team. He has goals in three straight, while his nine this season ranks second only behind Jake DeBrusk. On pace to set new career highs in goals and points, Suter has played a crucial role for the Canucks through their first 23 games of the 2024-25 campaign.

Matt Boldy:

Matt Boldy will always be the one who got away from Vancouver fans. The 23-year-old has 24 points in 24 games and is emerging as one of the best young wingers in the NHL. With six points in eight career games versus the Canucks, it will be a challenge to keep number 12 off the scoresheet on Tuesday.
