Want to Study Away in Washington, D.C.? – Arkansas Tech University

Date:

Ten Arkansas Tech University students began their spring 2023 semester by participating in the 2023 Inside Washington Seminar presented by The Washington Center.

Arkansas Tech University students are invited to apply for a study away opportunity through a national security seminar hosted by The Washington Center May 14-22, 2024, in Washington, D.C.

“I have two fully-funded slots left that cover the $2,295 cost of the week-long seminar — which includes housing for the week — and includes a $300 stipend for travel and food,” said Dr. Michael Rogers, ATU professor of political science. “While expenses for travel and food beyond this are out of the students’ pockets, this is as close to a week free in Washington, D.C., as it gets.”

Application deadline for this opportunity is Wednesday, March 27.

According to its website, The Washington Center “provides immersive internships and academic seminars to students from hundreds of colleges and universities and young professionals from across the U.S. and more than 25 countries.”

More than 60,000 TWC alumni have earned career opportunities in fields such as law, education, social work, medicine, journalism, diplomacy, business and politics.

ATU students seeking more information about The Washington Center are invited to send e-mail to mrogers6@atu.edu.

Among the details Rogers can share is how ATU students may earn one Arkansas Tech internship credit by participating in The Washington Center’s national security seminar.
