Arkansas Tech University students are invited to apply for one of three remaining funded positions to attend a national security seminar hosted by The Washington Center May 14-22, 2024, in Washington, D.C.

“During this one-week seminar, you’ll interact with experts and public figures, go behind the scenes of organizations throughout the city, discover new career paths and come away with a competitive advantage in your resume,” said Hannah Keane, institutional partnerships manager for The Washington Center.

In addition to the three funded positions, other opportunities exist for ATU students to attend the seminar if they are able to pay their own way.

An informational session and alumni panel regarding The Washington Center national security seminar is scheduled for 5 p.m. (Central Daylight Time) Tuesday, March 5.

ATU students with an interest in attending the national security seminar are invited to register for the informational session and alumni panel at https://info.twc.edu/national-security-information-session-2024.

According to its website, The Washington Center “provides immersive internships and academic seminars to students from hundreds of colleges and universities and young professionals from across the U.S. and more than 25 countries.”

More than 60,000 TWC alumni have earned career opportunities in fields such as law, education, social work, medicine, journalism, diplomacy, business and politics.

ATU students seeking more information about The Washington Center are invited to contact Dr. Michael Rogers, ATU professor of political science, at mrogers6@atu.edu. Among the details Rogers can share is how ATU students may earn one Arkansas Tech internship credit by participating in The Washington Center’s national security seminar.
