Cowboys LB DeMarvion Overshown undergoes surgery with hope of returning sometime in 2025

Date:

After DeMarvion Overshown tore three ligaments in his right knee, Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy conceded that it’s “very realistic” the linebacker would miss the 2025 season. The Cowboys have a more optimistic timeline after Overshown’s surgery Wednesday, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports.

Dr. Neal ElAttrache operated on Overshown’s knee in Los Angeles, and the team hopes that he can return sometime mid-to-late next season.

Overshown tore the anterior cruciate ligament, the medial collateral ligament and the posterior cruciate ligament in the Week 14 loss to the Bengals. He announced his surgery on a social media post Tuesday night.

“He’s doing well and he’s in good spirits,” teammate Marist Liufau said, via Patrik Walker of the team website.

Overshown missed all of his 2023 rookie season with a torn ACL in his left knee.

The Cowboys’ second-leading tackler became the 13th Cowboys player to land on injured reserve this season.
