Ephrata Walmart shooting led to a large police presence

A large police presence was spotted outside the Walmart in Ephrata, situated on 8 90 E Main Street in Washington on Wednesday. The cops were responding to a shooting and possibly an active shooter situation in the area.
However, Grant County Sheriff’s Office – WA posted on Facebook that the reports of the shooting were false, and it was case of ‘swatting’ instead. They confirmed that there is no active shooter in the area.
“No active shooter at Ephrata Walmart. It was a swatting which is a false call intended to cause a police response. All is safe,” the Grant County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook.
