Updated snowfall forecast: What to expect from Tuesday’s Christmas Eve snow

Date:

A dream of a white Christmas Eve will be coming to some parts of Massachusetts.

Light snow from a quick-hitting clipper system will move through during the morning. A coating to an inch of snow will hit most of Massachusetts with a few areas in the North and elevations getting up to 2 inches.

Worcester will see snow from 6 to 10 a.m., Boston from 8 to 11 a.m. and parts of the Cape will see a mix and rain from 10 a.m. to noon.

“Most of our snow is falling in southern New Hampshire and western Massachusetts but its cold enough to snow,” Meteorologist Shiri Spear said in her morning forecast.

The roads will be cold and anything untreated could get slippery for a time. The Boston area is only expecting a coating of snow, with a few rain showers likely the result on the Cape.
