Good day, sunshine!

It was a terrific Tuesday afternoon, with blue skies and sunshine taking over from the coast to the Cascades. Highs topped out on either side of 70 degrees in Forks, Bremerton and Seattle, with north winds blowing over the region serving to warm us up and dry us out.

Wednesday will be the warmest day of the week near the Sound, with afternoon temperatures stretching into the middle 70s in Monroe, Snoqualmie and Puyallup. At the Pacific beaches, however, a marine push will usher in the the “May Gray,” which is the stratus deck that starts to take shape along the west coast this time of year. Low clouds and even patchy mist and drizzle will drop Ocean Park and Westport back into the upper 50s Wednesday afternoon.

The rest of us will cool down and cloud up starting on Thursday. A weak spring front will arch into British Columbia, dragging clouds and a few showers through Western Washington, too. Temperatures will tumble back into the 60s. Increasing onshore flow will keep the clouds and occasional showers coming Friday and especially Saturday, with a drop into the upper 50s for much of Puget Sound by the time we hit the weekend.

The variety will make for good gardening weather: get your plantings in on our sunny Wednesday, and then Mother Nature will help water them in for you later in the week.

Have a great night,
Shannon
