Six bold predictions for women’s college basketball in 2025

Date:

Women’s college basketball shattered TV ratings and set an NCAA Tournament attendance record in 2024. It also experienced somewhat of a changing of the guard.

After taking Iowa to new heights, Caitlin Clark moved on from college basketball this spring and was drafted No. 1 overall by the WNBA’s Indiana Fever. But women’s college basketball was left in good hands with stars such as Paige Bueckers, Azzi Fudd, JuJu Watkins and Hannah Hidalgo proudly carrying the baton forward.

There’s no shortage of storylines in college hoops this season — many of which have yet to be completely written.

Will Connecticut snap its eight-year title gap, the Huskies’ longest since Geno Auriemma won his first in 1995? Or will South Carolina be the first team since UConn to win back-to-back titles? And who will be crowned National Player of the Year?
