Mets offered Teoscar Hernandez two-year contract before OF agreed to deal with Dodgers: report

Date:

The Mets reportedly offered outfielder Teoscar Hernandez a two-year contract before the free agent decided to re-sign with the Dodgers, according to Newsday’s Tim Healey.

The 32-year-old outfielder is set to return to Los Angeles on a reported three-year deal worth $66 million. The contract includes a $15 million fourth-year option, $23 million in deferred money and a $23 million signing bonus, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

Hernandez — a two-time All-Star, including during the 2024 season in Los Angeles — slashed .272/.339/.501 with 33 home runs and 99 RBI over 154 games.

The Dodgers originally signed Hernandez last January on a one-year, $23.5 million contract.
