Washington Huskies Fall Camp Practice Wrap: Day 1

Date:

For the first time, Jedd Fisch and his staff took the field with the Washington Huskies for the start of fall camp. It’s one of the earliest starts to fall camp in recent memory, but it was still filled with the same drills, same energy and lots of new faces.

It was a day for drills and walk-throughs, so there wasn’t a lot to report.

The team focused on fundamentals and a lot of special teams work as well.

As Fisch noted on Tuesday at the fall camp press conference, Will Rogers took all of the snaps with the first team. Demond Williams took most of the snaps with the twos although Shea Kuykendall took some with the second unit as well.

Along the offensive line, Washington featured several new faces including D’Angalo Titialii at center and Enokk Vimahi at right guard with the first unit.

Drew Azzopardi (right tackle), Soane Faasolo (left tackle) and Gaard Memmelaar (left guard) were the names that we were already familiar with.

The first team receivers for the day were Jeremiah Hunter, Denzel Boston and Keith Reynolds, but Giles Jackson also got a lot of reps as well.

Both Cameron Davis and Sam Adams took most of the team reps with the first unit, but Jonah Coleman and Adam Mohammed also got some reps with the first team as well.

The tight end spot was pretty static with Quentin Moore taking almost all of the first team reps. Nevada transfer Keleki Latu and Decker DeGraaf were also getting a lot of work as well.

Defensively, the Huskies were rotating in a lot of players.

Along the front, Jacob Bandes and Sebastian Valdez were the main guys in the middle, but Miami transfer Logan Sagapolu and Sacramento State transfer Deshawn Lynch each got reps with the first and second team.

The linebackers saw a five-man rotation with Carson Bruener and Alphonzo Tuputala getting a majority of the reps ahead of Drew Fowler, Bryun Parham and Khmori House, but all of the linebackers got a lot of reps.

At the EDGE spots, Maurice Heims and Voi Tunuufi got reps with the first team, but Lance Holtzclaw and Jayden Wayne, a local four star who transferred back to Washington after a year at Miami, also got a lot of run as well.

In the secondary, Ephesians Prysock and Elijah Jackson were the locked in with the first team while Jordan Shaw and Thaddeus Dixon got most of the reps when the second team defense was on the field. Leroy Bryant also got on the field as a sub as well.

The safety spots were held down by Makell Esteen and Cameron Broussard since Kamren Fabiculanan was working on the side with the training staff. Justin Harrington also got in and got some reps as well as Peyton Waters and Tristan Dunn.

The team will return to the field tomorrow at 10 am for their second practice of fall camp.
