According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Union Berlin defender Robin Gosens has verbally agreed to join ACF Fiorentina.
It is understood that Fiorentina have been attempting to lure Gosens away from the German capital over the past week, but Union Berlin have made a move difficult, stating their intent on keeping the 30-year-old at the club.
However, as stated in the report, Gosens is hoping for a deal to go through and has now verbally agreed to join the Italian outfit.
The Viola are now working on reaching an agreement with Union, which is believed to be an initial loan, with an obligation for the Serie A side to make the deal permanent at the end of the campaign—should certain criteria be met.
The criteria to make the deal permanent are dependent on Gosens’ appearances at the club as well as whether Fiorentina qualify for European football.
Since joining Union, Gosens has featured 39 times for the club, scoring seven goals and collecting four assists.
