NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — WGNO is excited to welcome Carrigan Chauvin as our new meteorologist for Good Morning New Orleans! Hailing from Chauvin, Louisiana, Carrigan is a proud Terrebonne Parish native. She is excited to be coming home to the river parishes!
Carrigan graduated from Mississippi State University and began her career at WTOK-TV in Meridian, Mississippi, before moving to KJRH-TV in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Carrigan joined our sister station, CW39 in Houston, on Christmas Eve 2020. She is passionate about making weather accessible and understandable, providing viewers with the “why” behind the forecast through detailed scientific explanations.
At CW39, Carrigan played a key role in covering Hurricane Ida in 2021 for WGNO, filing numerous reports from the field during the storm. She was also front and center for several severe weather events including tornadoes and hurricanes in Houston. She also delivered live updates during the Texas Winter Storm 2021, braving 12° wind chills to keep viewers informed.
When she’s not tracking the weather, Carrigan enjoys spending time with her dog, Stratus.
You can catch her debut on WGNO News at 10 p.m. this Sunday, right after the SportsZone: LSU Sports Post Game show. She’ll join the Good Morning New Orleans team later in the week.
