Kansas Jayhawks entertained an elite high school basketball prospect from Germany

Date:

One of the top big men in the men’s high school basketball recruiting class of 2025 will follow his weekend official visit to Kansas with a trip to UConn this Friday through Sunday.

Eric Reibe, a 7-foot, 230-pound senior from Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland, who is ranked No. 25 nationally by ESPN.com, No. 45 by 247Sports.com and No. 66 by Rivals.com, commented on his recent trip to KU on Monday on social media site X.

He wrote: “Had a great visit at the University of Kansas! Thank you for the hospitality #RockChalk.”

Reibe, who is originally from Germany, will visit Kentucky (Sept. 13-15), North Carolina (Sept. 20-22), Indiana (Oct. 4-6) and Oregon (Oct. 11-13).

“I spent most of my time with Hunter Dickinson, Elmarko Jackson, and Flory Bidunga. They were telling me about why they chose Kansas and how life at Kansas is,” Reibe told Jayhawkslant.com.

He also spoke with zagsblog.com, saying: “I‘m the one replacing Hunter Dickinson and the role as a 4-5 player, very broadly speaking.”

Rivals.com’s Houston Wilson wrote of Reibe: “When Eric Reibe is on, there are not a lot of big men that I have seen dominate like him. Standing at 7-foot, he can finish well around the rim, hit mid-range shots consistently and stretch his game out to the perimeter. Defensively, he is a stud, too, and is improving as a rim protector.”

Jemison to visit Bama following KU trip

KU over the weekend also entertained London Jemison, a a 6-8, 170-pound senior small forward from St. Thomas More High School in West Hartford, Connecticut

Jemison also has visited Vanderbilt and is slated to visit Alabama this upcoming weekend, then Louisville (Sept. 13-15) and Virginia (Sept. 27-29).

He told Jayhawkslant.com he had a “great visit” to KU and also posted some pictures of his visit in a post on his X account.

Jemison is ranked No. 48 nationally by ESPN.com; No. 51 by Rivals.com and No. 94 by 247Sports.com.

“I think I’m a high level wing,” Jemison told Zagsblog.com. “I can do multiple things, shoot, pass, dribble, create, rebound pretty well too, run the floor. I’m just a versatile wing that can guard one-through-four. I can do whatever you need on the court, bringing whatever coach needs for sure.”

Dybantsa to visit KU this weekend

KU will entertain one prospect this weekend. He’s A.J. Dybantsa, a 6-9 senior forward from Utah Prep Academy in Manti, Utah.

Dybantsa, who visited K-State last weekend, is the consensus No. 1 player in the class of 2025.

The Brockton, Massachusetts native also will travel to North Carolina Sept. 20-22, Alabama Sept. 27-29, Baylor Oct. 4-6 and BYU Oct. 11-13. He has a seventh finalist in Auburn, a school he’s already visited. He still might make an unofficial to the SEC school.

Others to visit KU in coming weeks/months: Tounde Yessoufou, 6-5 forward, St. Joseph High, Santa Maria, California (Oct. 4-6); Sebastian Williams-Adams, 6-7, 235 small forward, Saint John’s High School, Houston (Sept. 13-15); and Hudson Greer, 6-7, 190 small forward, Montverde (Florida) Academy (Nov. 1-3).

Two players, Isaiah Denis and Jalen Haralson, are scheduled to visit for KU’s Oct. 18 Late Night in the Phog weekend. Haralson is a 6-7, 205 forward from La Lumiere School in La Porte, Indiana. Denis is a 6-5, 170 combo guard from Davidson (North Carolina) High.

The country’s consensus No. 3 prospect, Darryn Peterson, has already visited KU. The 6-5, 195 combo guard from Huntington Prep in West Virginia also has visited Kentucky, USC and Ohio State. He still reportedly wants to visit K-State, Washington, Arizona State and Louisville.

KU also is planning on setting up a visit date for Niko Bundalo, 6-10, 215-pound player who is formerly of Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio and headed to Prolific Prep in California.
