Jets agree to three-year extension with CB Michael Carter II

Date:

The Jets and cornerback Michael Carter II have agreed on a new three-year contract extension.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the contract is worth $30.75 million, which includes $19 million in guarantees and $3 million in incentives.

The 2024-25 season would have been the corners walk year, but New York is being proactive in locking up a key member of their defense. After the Jets selected the Duke product in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Carter II has been a solid cog in the team’s defense.

In his first two seasons, the 25-year-old recorded 135 tackles (95 solo) to go along with a sack, two fumble recoveries and two interceptions. He’s coming off a year where he made 50 tackles (37 solo) and forced a fumble in 15 games.
