Road-rage incident results in Boise police arrest of suspect on multiple charges

Date:

A 26-year-old Boise man was arrested after a road-rage incident turned into much more, according to the Boise Police Department.

On Thursday, just before 5 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired in the 7900 block of W. Overland Road. Officers found several shell casings in a parking lot but couldn’t find any victims or suspects, a police news release said.

Officers then found an unoccupied “suspect vehicle” near the scene and a “victim vehicle” at a home in Boise, police said. Police interviewed three men, who were all unharmed.

“Thanks to assistance from some observant witnesses, officers later located and interviewed a suspect,” the department said in its release. “Evidence indicated there had been a road rage situation between the two parties prior to the shots fired.”

After police found the suspect, he allegedly was in possession of child sex abuse materials and a stolen vehicle. Police said he gave officers a fake name and tried to hide the gun he allegedly used.

The man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, grand theft, destruction of evidence, eight counts of sexual exploitation of a child, false information provided to an officer and a failure to appear warrant. Four of the crimes are felonies.
