Filip Kostic admits that playing with his friend Dusan Tadic under José Mourinho is one of the main reasons he joined Fenerbahce from Juventus.
Kostic has joined Fenerbahce on loan until the end of the season. The experienced winger was not part of Thiago Motta’s plans at Juventus.
“I’m very excited to be here and can’t wait to train with my new teammates,” Kostic said in his first interview as a Fenerbahce player, as quoted by Alfredo Pedullà.
Kostic makes Mourinho admission after Fenerbahce transfer from Juventus
“Frankly, I have wanted to join Fenerbahce since day one. The fact that Dusan Tadic and José Mourinho are here is one of the most important reasons. Tadic is one of my closest friends, and I’ve spent a lot of time with him on the national team, so I am pleased to play with him again for Fenerbahce.
“Working with José will be a massive pleasure as he’s one of the best coaches in the world. I hope we can win something together. I’ll do my best.”
Fenerbahce are expected to pay Kostic’s full salary during his loan spell, allowing Juventus to save over €3m gross in 2024-25.
