Ibrahimovic contacts Terzic as Fonseca fights for Milan job

Date:

Milan advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic has reportedly been in contact with former Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic to sound out his availability should the head coach position become available in San Siro in the coming weeks, according to reports in Germany.

Paulo Fonseca is at risk of losing his job just five competitive matches into his Rossoneri career, after picking up just one win from his opening four Serie A matches, and after a rough night in the Champions League at the hands of Liverpool on Tuesday.

Wednesday’s reports suggest that the Derby della Madonnina against Inter in Serie A on Sunday is now effectively a must-win game if Fonseca wants to stay in the job.

Milan contact Terzic as Fonseca falters

In the event that Fonseca is dismissed next week, Milan have begun to seek possible alternatives.

Patrick Berger of Sky Sport DE reports that Ibrahimovic has already established contact with Terzic and his representatives.

The 41-year-old took Borussia Dortmund to the Champions League final last season, and came within 90 minutes of winning the Bundesliga title the year before, only to lose out to Bayern Munich on goal difference on the final day of the season.
