ROUNDUP: Golden Arrows get 18th victory of boys tennis season

Levi Chickadaunce’s 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles paced Sullivan to a 5-0 team victory over visiting South Knox in high school boys tennis play Wednesday.

Coach Wesley Kirk’s Golden Arrows stand 18-3 overall going into Monday’s 5 p.m. match with Linton on the Arrows’ courts.

Prep girls tennis

• Robinson 6, Casey 3 — At Robinson, Ill., the Maroons’ Annie List rallied from a first-set loss to top Casey’s Elise Derome in No. 1 singles, leading Robinson to victory Thursday.

Derome won the first set 6-4, before List rebounded to take the second at 6-1 and the third-set tiebreaker 10-5.

• West Vigo 1, Owen Valley 0 — At Spencer, Mariella LaComba scored the game’s only goal as the Vikings picked up a Western Indiana Conference win on Thursday.

Lily Krause had four saves for West Vigo, while Jessa Bark assisted on the goal. Now 4-6-2, West Vigo hosts Vincennes Rivet on Monday.

Prep cross country

• Tigers, Panthers win — At Paris, Ill., the boys team from the host Tigers and the girls team from Riverton Parke were winners Thursday evening.

Individual winners were Harrison Hays of Paris and Ella Harmon of Oblong.

• Tai earns MVC honors — Indiana State’s Yang Tai has been named one of the Missouri Valley Conference Golfers of the Week.

Tai tied for fifth, her best finish as a Sycamore, at The Velvet hosted by Murray State earlier in the week, shooting rounds of 74-78-74.

ISU was seventh among 16 teams at the tournament and travels to the Roseann Schwartz Invitational hosted by Youngstown State beginning Sunday.
