India, despite the Test dominance in the last decade, under captain Virat Kohli who led the side from the front has a negative head-to-head record against major opponents like England, Australia, West Indies, South Africa and Pakistan. However, with the consistency that India has gained in the format, their record is only improving with each passing day and moving in the right direction.

India has also never lost a single Test against their current opponents, Bangladesh whom they beat in the 1st Test at Chennai and are set to face them again in the 2nd Test at Kanpur, starting from September 27.
