England bowling first as Australia bids to clinch ODI series without Head and Zampa

Date:

CHESTER-LE-STREET, England (AP) — England won the toss and opted to bowl first under an overcast sky in the third one-day international against Australia, which is looking for a win to clinch the five-match series on Tuesday.

Australia secured dominant wins in Southampton and Leeds to take a 2-0 lead and is on a 14-match winning run in the 50-over format.

However, the Australians will be without two of their key players — opener Travis Head and spinner Adam Zampa — as Cameron Green and Sean Abbott returned. Captain Mitchell Marsh said he will open in Head’s absence.

England recalled Jofra Archer after he was rested for the second ODI on Saturday, with Olly Stone dropping out.
