MLB World Series Odds 2024 — MLB Championship Betting Lines 2024

Date:

The New York Yankees have won five straight series and are a win away from clinching the AL East. They can enter the playoffs with momentum with a strong final week of the regular season, and perhaps shrink their odds even further.

With just under a week left in the 2024 MLB regular season, the races mostly seem finished. The NL West could still flip but it’s a bit of a long shot.

MLB odds have the Los Angeles Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies as the biggest favorites but the New York Yankees are getting hot at the right time.

Let’s take a look at the latest World Series odds as the regular season winds down.

World Series winner odds

Favorites to win 2024 World Series

Los Angeles Dodgers (+310 to +350)

The Los Angeles Dodgers have a three-game lead over the San Diego Padres in the NL West and the two are about to open a three-game series at Dodger Stadium.

Winning the series would lock in the division title. Heck, the Padres would be best served by sweeping the set because L.A. faces the lowly Rockies to finish the season.

Nevertheless, the Dodgers remain the top dog in the odds. However, no other division leader has a smaller gap over the second-place team than Los Angeles.

Philadelphia Phillies (+350 to +475)

The Philadelphia Phillies have clinched the NL East and could still enter the postseason with the best record in the Senior Circuit if the Dodgers stumble in the season’s final week.

The Phillies have five games remaining, two vs. the Cubs and three at the Nationals. With homefield still in play, it’s doubtful that any regulars rest unless it’s absolutely essential.

New York Yankees (+375 to +450)

The New York Yankees have all but secured an AL East division title, needing one win or a Baltimore Orioles loss to seal the deal. Both scenarios could come to fruition tonight as the rivals open a three-game series at Yankee Stadium.

The Yankees have found a groove in September, winning five consecutive series, including a three-game sweep of the A’s over the weekend. Meanwhile, the Orioles continue to struggle and it seems like a foregone conclusion that they’ll have to settle for a wild card.

How to read MLB World Series futures odds

Sportsbooks will post World Series futures as soon as the previous season concludes, and some even sooner. These betting boards are constantly adjusted throughout the winter and ensuing season as players get hurt or are traded. Once the regular season begins, World Series odds will change daily as teams win and lose games, and as more players are injured or traded. Sportsbooks will also adjust the World Series odds based on handle and liability to certain teams.

World Series odds will usually look like this:

This means that on a $100 bet, you’ll stand to win $240 if the Dodgers win the World Series. If it’s close to the end of the season or MLB has a very dominant team, you could see a minus sign (-) ahead of a team’s odds.

This means that if you bet on the Atlanta Braves during the 2020 MLB season, you would have needed to bet $150 to profit $100 if the Braves won the championship.

Above we have posted the American odds for the World Series. However, these are easy to convert to decimal odds or fractional odds with our odds converter tool.
