Florent Ghisolfi speaks for the first time: “Roma deserves to be in the Champions League.”

Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi released his first interview since joining the capital club in June.

While speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the French executive outlined the club’s objectives and transfer signings.

“We want a Roma that is not dependent on coaches or managers, we are expanding the management to create stability,” said Ghisolfi.

“For this reason we have also avoided loans to increase the value of the club’s players. We will soon announce the new CEO, while with Sertori, director of performance, we will rebuild the scouting department.”

“Dybala? He chose with his heart to stay, now he just has to think about playing freely, giving the best of himself.”

“We never asked the coaches to let him play less because of the renewal and we were not the ones who found him the Arab club whose offer he considered.”

“We have many wingers for the 3-man defence. We took Hermoso and Hummels precisely because we had decided with De Rossi that the formation would change.”

“We hope to find a solution for Zalewski because we don’t want to lose him for free.”

“We are discussing Pisilli’s renewal while Svilar has shown he deserves it and therefore he will have his contract renewed shortly.”

“Objectives? I will never talk about a transition period, there are short-term objectives and Roma deserves to be in the Champions League.”
