PSG targets young talent who have yet to reach their full potential, and Saliba, whose contract with the Gunners expires in 2027, fits that mold. Nonetheless, don’t expect the Premier League side to sell the player as transfer expert Fabrizio puts an end to the Saliba rumors.
“Although William Saliba will always be appreciated because of his immense talent, there’s nothing in a rumor that Paris Saint-Germain could make a big offer for his services at this stage, to be fair,” Romano wrote in his Daily Briefing Column for CaughtOffside. “There has been no approach from PSG, no proposal, no talks.
“Saliba is a crucial player for Arsenal so I don’t think there could be anything for Saliba to even consider soon. He’s very happy at Arsenal and there’s nothing ongoing with any club – no idea where these PSG stories are coming from.”
It will be interesting to see if PSG does pursue another central defender next year, whether it be in the January or summer window.
