Liverpool wonderkid scores in PRESTIGIOUS tournament and repeats Trent Alexander-Arnold feat

Liverpool’s wonderkid has scored at a prestigious tournament and repeated a feat done by Trent Alexander-Arnold in the process. 

The Reds’ academy is thriving with talent at the moment. Under, Jurgen Klopp last season plenty emerged as exciting prospects for the future.

There are more pushing on Arne Slot’s door at the moment with the likes of Trey Nyoni and Rio Ngumoha currently the pick of the bunch in the academy this season.

But more are also hoping to follow in their footsteps. And one academy prospect has been doing exactly that by scoring in a prestigious tournament.

Max Hawkins scores in prestigious Victory Shield

Currently, Liverpool have one representative in Max Hawkins at the Victory Shield. This is a historic youth competition where the United Kingdom’s four countries have traditionally participated in autumn is known as the first major competition that young players participate in.

Although since 2015, it’s actually the Republic of Ireland who have replaced England at the tournament, so it’s not just countries from the United Kingdom who take part in the competition anymore.

The U16 tournament has provided the foundations for plenty of Liverpool’s current young stars. Trent Alexander-Arnold made his England youth debut in this competition playing against Northern Ireland.

Meanwhile, the likes of Conor Bradley and Kieran Morrison have also participated in the tournament in recent years.

Now it’s Wales U16 international Max Hawkins who is following in their footsteps.

The Liverpool youngster played in Wales’ first game of the tournament against Northern Ireland and scored his country’s first goal in the game to inspire a comeback from 2-0 down to draw the game 3-3 and win on penalties.

It was quite an easy finish for Hawkins, but it will undoubtedly go down as a memorable moment for the young attacker.

Wales have not won the tournament since 2015, but Hawkins and his teammates will be keen to end that run.
