Man charged over city crossbow incident

A man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident involving a crossbow being fired at a house in Hull, police said.

Humberside Police said officers were called to Victoria Avenue at about 22:40 BST on Monday.

Andrew Woollen, 50, of Perth Street in Hull, who was arrested at the scene, has also been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and possession of a bladed article in a public place, as well as drugs offences.

He is due to appear at Hull Magistrates’ Court later.
