Pets with Potential: Meet Maximus, Cricket and Twix

Date:

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – This week’s Pets with Potential are a dog, a cat and a bunny at the Humane Society of Chittenden County. It’s Adopt-A-Shelter Dog Month at the Humane Society of Chittenden County, meaning a zero-dollar adoption fee and free training session for all dogs.

Maximus is one of the dogs there. He’s a 2-year-old social butterfly who staffers describe as energetic and adventurous. Staffers say his enthusiasm can be a little overwhelming but with the right training, he’ll channel his excitement into calm. Maximus will do best in an active home with no other pets and older children.

Cricket is a 2-year-old female kitty who was urgently evacuated from Texas because of severe flooding at her shelter. Staffers describe her as a strong, independent woman who loves spending time with her people playing with wand toys. Cricket should be the only cat in the house but could live with dogs and kids with a little patience.

Twix is a 3-year-old female rabbit with a penchant for adventure. She has a form of uterine cancer but that doesn’t stop her from thriving. Staffers say she loves tossing around paper towel tubes and munching on her favorite chew toys. She’s also a fan of snuggling up. Twix will do best with a family who understands her needs.

Contact the Humane Society of Chittenden County for more information on these pets or any of the animals waiting there for their forever homes.
