St. Xavier High School fires teacher over ‘possible boundary violation’ with a student

Date:

A St. Xavier High School teacher was fired recently after the school became aware of “a possible boundary violation” with a student, the school confirmed Friday morning to The Enquirer.

“The care of the student and his family remain the school’s top priority during this most difficult time,” the school’s official statement reads.

St. Xavier High School is a Catholic college preparatory school for boys. It was founded in 1831 and currently serves more than 1,300 students. The campus is located in Finneytown.

Springfield Township police said the school notified investigators Wednesday about “possible inappropriate contact and communication involving a staff member and a student.”

The department reported that officers are “actively working to determine if a crime has been committed.”

School officials said the employee who was terminated is instructed not to contact any of the school’s students, faculty or staff.

The Enquirer will update this story.
