Thibaut Courtois ‘I miss the Red Devils’

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois opened a new pitch in Bilzen on Friday afternoon. The Belgian goalkeeper was interviewed by HLN, who asked him about the national team. The goalkeeper admitted that he misses playing for the side, but for the moment, he remains committed to staying away from head coach Domenico Tedesco’s team.

However, Courtois did admit that he hopes to return at some point to get the farewell he feels that he deserves. It is hard to argue, after the amount of time he played for the Red Devils, that Courtois international career should not end in such a way. However, given that the he and the head coach remain at odds, it is unlikely that Courtois makes a return while Tedesco is still in charge. Clearly any return for the former Chelsea man is dependent on how long Tedesco remains in charge. After a disappointing Euro’s campaign, Tedesco is coming under pressure despite being issued a new contract.
