OHSAA state girls golf I Strong second day helps Hoover wrap up sixth-place finish

KETTERINGHoover High School’s girls golf team brought the 2024 season to a close Tuesday by finishing sixth in the OHSAA Division I state tournament at NCR Country Club.

The Vikings shaved 10 strokes off Monday’s first round score and finished with a two-day total with a 672. Magnificat won the state title with a 618.

Ellie Hutzler came in 18th at 159 (81-78) to lead the Vikings. Kylie Porter finished tied for 23rd at 162 (84-78), Ava Kemp tied for 25th at 163 (80-163) and Amerlia Mohler tied for 55th at 188 (96-92) to round out the scoring. Alyssa Evans also came in 62nd at 193 (98-95) for Hoover.

Marlington’s Zoe Mort shot 73 Tuesday to finish tied for 12th at 154, She competed at state as an individual qualifier.
