Former Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini once again called out the club’s American ownership.
In an interview with Corriere della Sera, Sabatini did not mince words when discussing the Friedkins’ tenure in the Italian capital.
“These Americans from Roma are charlatans,” said Sabatini. “They’re people who don’t understand the city and the sense of ownership that people have towards the team.”
“You have to know a fan base like Roma’s,” he added.
“You can’t pretend it doesn’t exist, because Romanism is too powerful a feeling, it’s an illness.”
