BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M women’s basketball team opens the 2024-25 campaign versus the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders Monday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. inside Reed Arena.
The Aggies are led by third year head coach Joni Taylor who guided the program to the NCAA Tournament last season for the first time since 2021. This summer, Taylor was an assistant coach on the US Women’s National Team that won gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
On the court, A&M returns two-time All-SEC Second Team selection Aicha Coulibaly and defensive anchor Lauren Ware. Coulibaly and Ware were selected to the Cheryl Miller and Lisa Leslie award watchlists, respectively, during the preseason.
Under Taylor, the Maroon & White is 14-2 at home during non-conference play, including a perfect 9-0 in Aggieland last year. The program has won 11-consecutive season openers by an average margin of 23.4 points per victory.
