A Great Cooper Flagg Read

Date:

As the season draws ever closer, the Cooper Flagg anticipation grows accordingly. We’ve seen enough to know he’s good – if you had any questions, his play during Peach Jam and then against the U.S. Olympic team as part of the Select Team should put that to rest.

Still, we’ve seen him in little bits here and there. It’s not like we’ve seen him go against top-flight competition on a regular basis.

So what should we expect? Who is Cooper Flagg?

For a better look behind the curtain, we would like to recommend you read this article by SB Nation’s Ricky O’ Donnell.

You get a better idea of how focused Flagg is, how he has prepared for his basketball ascent. Here’s an excerpt from that article. These are comments from Matt McKenzie, who helped train Cooper and his twin brother Ace: “He was incredibly competitive. You could definitely tell that he wanted to win at all costs.”

“He was also a kid who picked up on things very quickly, even more so than some of the college players that I would work. His ability to acquire skills was just phenomenal. His natural IQ for the game of basketball was at a level that I hadn’t seen before for a kid that age.”

It’s a great read for Duke fans, so don’t miss it!
