Abilene Christian University bus involved in crash in Lubbock after Texas Tech game

A crash involving the Abilene Christian University football team’s bus occurred Saturday night after the team played at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock.

The Lubbock Police Department desk confirmed a 911 call at 11:33 p.m. for a reported vehicle accident on the Marsha Sharp Freeway and University Avenue.

According to a social media post, it appears the ACU bus and a truck were involved in the crash. LPD could not confirm if there were any injuries involved at this time.

Early Sunday morning, Texas Tech Athletics released the following statement about the crash:

“The thoughts and prayers of Red Raider Nation are with our friends at ACU and those who may have been injured in tonight’s accident. Our administration has been in constant contact with ACU’s staff since their departure and will assist wherever needed.”

No other details have been released.
