According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, Olympique de Marseille are in advanced talks to sign free agent Adrien Rabiot (29).
Rabiot has been a free agent since July after he refused to extend his deal with Juventus. His agent and mother, Veronique Rabiot, said that extending with the Serie A giants was never truly an option, however, options haven’t been plentiful since becoming a free agent.
Wage demands have seemingly been an issue. Those demands weren’t a problem for Saudi Arabian sides, however, the Frenchman has ruled out such a move. The same goes for a move to Turkey, despite reported interest from Galatasaray. The situation has affected his international career with the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder left out of Didier Deschamps’ latest France squad.
However, the situation now looks set to be resolved. As revealed by Romano, Marseille are in advanced talks to sign Rabiot on a free transfer. OM are optimistic that the deal can be concluded quickly, perhaps within 48 hours, following days of negotiations.
