Midfielder Kristjan Asllani will be left out of Inter Milan’s squad for their Serie A clash with Roma due to a minor injury.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that teenage midfielder Thomas Berenbruch will get a call-up for the trip to the Italian capital.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is beginning to see the injuries pile up in midfield a bit.
On the one hand, Nicolo Barella is back. The 27-year-old has returned to full fitness after missing three matches prior to the international break with a thigh injury.
Barella’s return is certainly welcome news for Inzaghi and Inter.
But during the break, midfielder Piotr Zielinski picked up a thigh strain while away with Poland.
And Zielinski is not the only Inter midfielder to have picked up an injury either.
Yesterday, Kristjan Asllani suffered a knock in training.
Kristjan Asllani To Miss Out On Roma Vs Inter Serie A Clash
Former Empoli midfielder Asllani picked up a minor knock at the end of yesterday’s training session, according to reports.
The 22-year-old’s condition was therefore a doubt for tomorrow’s match against Roma.
However, Sky reports, the outlook was not positive in today’s training session. Asllani has not recovered to a level where he will be able to play a part in tomorrow’s match.
Therefore, the broadcaster anticipates, Asllani will not travel with the Inter squad for the clash.
The Albanian will presumably be aiming to recover in time for upcoming clashes with the likes of Young Boys and Juventus.
Asllani’s absence, along with that of Zielinski, will hand an opportunity to one youngster.
19-year-old midfielder Thomas Berenbruch has been starring for Inter’s Primavera or Under-19 team this season.
The teenager appears to be the latest in a production line of midfielders that has also included Cesare Casadei and Giovanni Fabbian.
And Berenbruch will get the chance to be part of an Inter senior squad tomorrow evening.
