Authorities are preparing to announce a development in the 1995 kidnapping of 6-year-old Morgan Nick.
Alma Police Chief Jeff Pointer will discuss the development on Tuesday (Oct. 1) at 10:30 a.m. at the Alma Police Department.
Morgan was abducted on June 9, 1995, from the Little League baseball field in Alma. She attended the game with her mother, Colleen Nick, and was last seen playing with other children near the fields around 10:30 p.m. She vanished shortly after, and despite extensive searches and investigation, her whereabouts remain unknown.
The case drew national attention and has remained active. The FBI, state and local police, and private investigators have worked on the case, following leads. Despite multiple potential breakthroughs over the years, including digs and arrests concerning the case, Morgan has not been found.
Colleen Nick founded the Morgan Nick Foundation in 1996 to help families of missing children and to raise awareness about child abduction.
“Still Missing Morgan,” a four-part documentary about the kidnapping, was released on Hulu in 2023.
