Mumbai spin-bowling all-rounder Tanush Kotian has received his maiden call-up to join the India squad in Melbourne and will leave for Australia on Tuesday.
Team India has reportedly made a surprise addition to their Test squad after veteran Ravichandran Ashwin called it quits after the Brisbane Test. Ahead of the fourth fixture of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Mumbai’s spin-bowling all-rounder is set to join the squad Down Under.
According to Sportstar, Kotian has received his maiden call-up to join the India squad in Melbourne and will leave for Australia on Tuesday. When he received the call-up, the off-spinner was in Ahmedabad, playing Vijay Hazare Trophy for Mumbai. However, an official announcement is still awaited.
Kotian has established himself as a standout off-spinning all-rounder in Indian domestic cricket. His skills earned him a spot in the India A squad that toured Australia in preparation for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Tanush Kotian is a promising off-spinning all-rounder making waves in Indian domestic cricket. Known for his consistent performances, he has been a vital player for Mumbai, contributing with both bat and ball. Kotian’s ability to deliver under pressure has earned him recognition as a rising star in the Indian cricketing circuit.
The 26-year-old has played 33 First-class matches and has picked 101 wickets, averaging 25.70. He recently starred with the ball and bat in Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy match against Baroda, picking up a five-wicket haul. He was the Player of the Tournament last Ranji season as Mumbai won the 43rd title, defeating Vidarbha by 169 runs. Kotian had scored 502 runs and picked up 29 wickets in 10 matches.
