Paris Saint-Germain could be in the market for a No. 9 next year, and the capital club could pursue a familiar face in Ligue 1. LOSC Lille standout Jonathan David appears to be heading to free agency next summer after his contract expires in June 2025.
If David does become a free agent, there will be no shortage of suitors lining up for the Canadian striker. The 24-year-old has been at the Ligue 1 club since 2020, winning the league title in the 2020-21 season with Les Dogues.
Tuttosport (h/t Sempre Inter) reports that Atletico Madrid and PSG are set to challenge Inter Milan and Juventus to sign David as the competition intensifies. The outlet also notes that several teams from the Premier League are considering a move.
The Lille star has scored eight goals in 13 appearances across all competitions this season for the French side. Additionally, with Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa expected to leave Inter at the end of the season, there will likely be an opening in the attack.
David being on the radar of the two Serie A clubs shouldn’t be a surprise, considering the top clubs in the league have a history of pursuing free agents who can bolster their squads.
