Mario Balotelli has been included on a list of six free agent that Torino could turn to after losing centre-forward Duvan Zapata to a long-term injury over the weekend, according to outlets in Italy.
Balotelli an option for Torino after Zapata injury
Balotelli is currently a free agent after the expiry of his contract with Adana Demirspor in Turkey at the end of last season, and has recently spoken about his desire to return to Serie A.
The former Italy international claimed that he had turned down offers from abroad to hold out for a ‘dream’ return to his home country.
Torino tend to play with two strikers under Paolo Vanoli, and now only have three senior centre-forwards at their disposal, so a venture into the free agent market is a real possibility.
According to reports from Tuttosport, Balotelli is the first name that springs to mind when it comes to finding a replacement for Zapata in Turin.
There are, however, several other available centre-forwards that Torino could evaluate, including Isaac Success, Eric Choupo-Moting, Wissam Ben Yedder, Mariano and veteran Kevin Gamiero.
