Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyökeres has been attracting much attention, especially with his start to the 2024-25 season. Moreover, a new suitor joins the race to land the 26-year-old forward.
According to a report from CaughtOffside last week, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, and PSG are the main clubs to watch in the race for Viktor Gyökeres. The report notes that Spurs have shown the strongest interest in the forward.
Chelsea are keeping an eye on him as a backup option, as they plan to make another push for Victor Osimhen in January or next summer. Meanwhile, PSG also admire Gyökeres and have a strong relationship with Sporting.
However, CaughtOffside adds that a potential move to PSG would likely hinge on whether the club decides to part ways with Gonçalo Ramos or Randal Kolo Muani after the season, which is still in the air.
The latest club to express interest in the Swedish standout is FC Barcelona. According to SPORT, the Catalan side are considering Gyökeres as a potential long-term replacement for striker Robert Lewandowski.
Gyökeres netted a brace on Sunday, bringing his tally for Sporting this season to 11 goals and three assists. He now has 14 goals and five assists across club and country. Remarkably, he’s contributed at least one goal in every match so far this season.
